The National Economic Development Authority (NEDA) and the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) team visited UP Mindanao on November 27, 2024, to look at viable campus facilities and infrastructures for the Project “Mapping and Assessment of Government-Funded Innovation Infrastructure” in Davao City.
The Technology Transfer and Business Development (TTBDO) team of Dyle Legaspi and Kyle Quinco received the visiting team composed of UNDP’s Rosstyn Fallorina, NEDA specialists Arthur Abes and Ena Mae Arellano, and NEDA-XI specialist Laurence John Francis Gido.
The NEDA-UNDP team discussed with research director Prof. May Anne Mata. It inspected the Discovery and Development of Health Products (DDPH) Project, the Philippine Genome Center (PGC) Mindanao, the Mindanao Center for Disease Watch and Analytics (DiWA), the Center for the Advancement of Research in Mindanao (CARIM), the Technology Business Incubation (TBI), the TTBDO, the Lactic Acid Laboratory, and the Bakery Pilot Plant.
According to NEDA Innovation Staff Director Diane Gail Maharjan, NEDA is conducting a research project to map public innovation infrastructure in selected key areas to ensure those are useful and accessible to innovators and enterprises. This originates from the Philippine Development Plan 2023-2028, which identifies a dynamic innovation ecosystem as one of the cross-cutting strategies to catalyze socio-economic transformation.
