Department of Food Science and Chemistry present best-performing students and plaques

Constituents of the Department of Food Science and Chemistry (DFSC) presented their plaques as a Best Performing School, accompanied by students who achieved recognition in academic competitions, in a visit to the office of Chancellor Lyre Anni Murao on December 3, 2024.

Asst.Prof. Rovi Gem Villame-Gayagas and Instructor Meluzvia Marie Amora presented the two plaques from the Professional Regulation Commission – Professional Regulatory Board of Food Technology recognizing UP Mindanao for its “Exemplary Passing Performance” of 83.33% and 90.32%, respectively, in the 2023 and 2024 Food Technologists Licensure Examination, ranking Third-Place among all participating schools, colleges, and universities for two consecutive years.

The DFSC faculty likewise presented the BS Food Technology students who participated and won recognition in the 6th National Student Conference and 7th National Food Quiz Bowl held at UP Los Baños on November 16, 2024, and the Philippine Microbiology Olympiad 2024 – Mindanao Leg, held on November 20, 2024, at Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan.
