Athletes of the Bachelor of Sports Science (BSS) won gold, silver, and bronze medals medals in the Tagum City Festival Karate Championship, held on November 16–17, 2024, at NCCC Mall, Tagum City, hosted by the Southern Mindanao Shotokan Karate Association. The UP Mindanao athletes represented the Inawayan Karate Ryu, Inc. (IKRI) under the leadership of Renshi Edilberto Flores.
