CAMPUS DEVELOPMENT

History of the Campus

All great things have their beginnings. UP Mindanao began with three employees in rented office spaces in the downtown area of Davao City. Administrative offices were found in the Lee Business Corner at J. Luna Street and the Casa Mercado building in Tulip Drive. Soon, a campus in Ladislawa rose. Today, our campus is located in Barangay Mintal, with a total land area of 204 hectares.

Land Reservations

In 1998, President Fidel V. Ramos signed Proclamation Nos. 1252 and 1253, which designated the biodiverse areas of Laak, Davao del Norte (2,800 hectares) and Marilog, Davao City (4,100 hectares) for purposes of research, extension, and instruction. In addition to purposes of academic pursuits, these areas remained in the protection and conservation of the university as ancestral domains.

In fertile lands where nature and learners coexist, we will soon see our campus rise through developments and new infrastructure to reach its maximum potential.
