The Human Resource Development Office held the closing of the Supervisors’ Leadership Training facilitated by Mr. Perfecto Cagaanan, Jr. on December 10, 2024, at the CHSS Cultural Complex.
Officials and personnel with supervisory responsibilities convened in plenary and small groups to express their commitments. The participants pledged to serve with honor and excellence, to use the training learnings to meet targets for the office and the university with quality, to continue to learn and grow and share learnings, to find opportunities to mentor and train staff and colleagues, to foster a friendly and learning environment, practice open communication, maintain awareness, and provide enlightenment. They pledged to nurture the values of colleagues and students, be the “change” of the change they seek, to articulate what is right and worth sharing, and to stand firm when right.
HRDO Chief Lynda Buenaobra said, “The challenge of being supervisor is being in the middle where the possibility of breakdown can occur but because we had the opportunity to learn from this training, we now have the tools and strategies and acquired the confidence to lead with clarity, efficiency, and purpose. Your roles as supervisors are integral to our collective success. The techniques you have learned are theoretical frameworks and practical solutions that can create a positive and lasting impact on the teams you manage. At UP Mindanao, we are steadfast in our mission to capacitate each member of our community and we believe that by investing in your development you are contributing to a greater vision of honor, excellence, and service aligned with our institutional goals.”
