Launching of SARS-COV-2 Genomics Biosurveillance in PGC Mindanao and Visayas

Everyone is invited to the launching of the SARS-COV-2 Genomics Biosurveillance Services in PGC Visayas and Mindanao on 11 March 2022 with the theme “Drawing on Collective Strengths for Pandemic Preparedness.” The expansion of the genomic biosurveillance capacity in Visayas anad Mindanao was established to increase the number of weekly samples from around the archipelago for Whole Genomic Sequencing (WGS) and to address the logistical challenges of having the samples transported from laboratories around the country to the genome center in Diliman.

This launch is made possible through the support of the Department of Health, Department of Science and Technology-Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, University of the Philippines System, and the Philippine Genome Center together with its satellite facilities in Visayas and Mindanao, as well as funding support from the Department of Budget and Management.
